Check out a Black Democratic Socialist Vision for Public Safety, Robin’s plan for Minneapolis.

“Our purpose is to build confidence amongst Black & Brown and working-class people, that we are capable of protecting and caring for our communities. We have done so for many generations without the help of the police.” — Robin Wonsley Worlobah

Robin speaks at a press conference at the Brooklyn Center Police Department on the murder of Daunte Wright at the hands of the Brooklyn Center Police.

Redirect MPD Funding towards Public Safety Alternatives.

  • Decrease the number of police and provide employment and mental health transition resources for officers exiting the force.

  • Demilitarize the police.

  • Ban chemical weapons like tear gas.

Support the movement to build a new public safety system.

  • Support statewide efforts to institute firing and hiring powers for community oversight boards over public safety agencies; make repeat abuse complaints grounds for immediate termination.

  • Fully fund the offices of public defenders.

  • Fully fund preventative and diversionary programs and reentry services.

  • Support city, county, and state level initiatives against policies that disproportionately hurt Black, brown and working class Minnesotans, including ending cash bail, decriminalizing marijuana, and decriminalizing sex work.

Guarantee comprehensive mental health care to both incarcerated and non-incarcerated communities and law enforcement.

  • Tax largest medical businesses in Minneapolis to support mental health and other health related needs.

  • Convert vacant lots and properties into community run & controlled healing centers where H&W practitioners and healers from across the city can provide healing, restorative services, and comprehensive mental health care to both incarcerated and non-incarcerated communities.

  • Implement restorative justice and trauma informed practices in all schools.
