2025 Caucus Information

Keep Ward 2 Independent!

Is Robin seeking the DFL endorsement?

Since she first ran to represent Ward 2 in 2021, Robin has been an independent socialist, and she will not be seeking the DFL endorsement in 2025. While Robin shares many of the values of the DFL, City Hall has failed over and over again to address the crises facing our city. Powerful independent movements have always been at the forefront of pushing the establishment to enact the policies our communities need, from a $15 minimum wage to the current fights for safe and affordable housing for all and building a public safety system that protects Black and Indigenous lives. Robin sees her role as to be a voice for working people and our movements in City Hall.

In this, with you.

What is caucus?

The caucus is a gathering of DFL-aligned neighbors to discuss their priorities for Minneapolis, and to select delegates to represent them at conventions. Anyone who resides in Ward 2 and who meets the DFL’s other eligibility criteria can attend the caucus. This year, caucus will be held in-person at Pratt Elementary on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 7pm.

How can I support Robin?

Team Robin will be hosting regular phone banks from now until caucus! We want to reach as many Ward 2 residents as possible so we can block the DFL endorsement and get Robin re-elected. Sign up to phonebank

Ward 2 residents: Get in touch! We will be sending out info on upcoming trainings, non-attendee forms, and other resources—for our supporters and anyone else in the DFL who cares about it staying true to its working class roots.

What does it mean to be a delegate?

Delegates are selected either by attending caucus in-person at Pratt Elementary on April 8 or by registering ahead of time as a nonattendee. Delegates then attend the Ward 2 DFL Convention on Saturday, May 3 to decide if the DFL should endorse a candidate in Ward 2.

Who can be a delegate?

Anyone who lives in Ward 2 can be a delegate if you’ll be 18 years old by November 4, 2025, and if you consider yourself a member of the DFL. If you aren’t sure of which ward you live in, look up your address. You do not need to be registered to vote and you do not need to be a citizen to participate. Students who live in Ward 2 are also eligible, even if you aren’t registered to vote at your Ward 2 address.

Do I have to attend caucus to be a delegate?

No! You may register as a nonattendee to be nominated as a delegate without attending the caucus in-person. Connect with Robin’s campaign for more info about becoming a delegate.

What is the Ward 2 DFL Convention?

At the Convention, delegates selected at the caucus will decide if the DFL should endorse a candidate for the Ward 2 City Council election. The Ward 2 DFL convention will be on Saturday, May 3.
